Volunteering Program
Gain invaluable experience, connect with nature, and build a new future.
The Ibu Bumi Orangutan organisation has the mission of protecting the rainforest through sustainable economic development, education and wildlife protection programs. To achieve our goals, we have several projects on the ground in collaboration with a range of local partners, each with a different mission.
We offer the opportunity to learn from experts in the field, share knowledge, engage with the natural beauty of Indonesia, and develop a range of valuable skills.
This type of volunteering is aimed at people of all ages and families who are 100% able to adapt to work and life in the field.
All the places that we offer to volunteers have rules in respect of the local culture (muslim)

My daughter and I spent 7 fabulous, peaceful days arranged by Malaysia Wildlife staying at Batu Katak in the sumatran rainforest. The lodge accommodation was comfortable and the setting spectacular.Everyone was super friendly and helpful especially the forest guides who looked after us really well. The highlight of our stay was seeing a family of wild orangutans during one of our forest treks, definitely with the heat, humidity and the effort!
We can't recommend the experience highly enough, truly unforgettable .
