Batu Katak Gibbon Guesthouse

Our guesthouse is located in Batu Katak, a village on the edge of the Gunung Leuser National Park.

This establishment is part of our ecotourism development program in this area.

We have a local team, including guide and porters who work on our program.

By booking with us you can also carry out different activities such as trekking in the jungle, visiting the Batu Katak cave, volunteer activities in our different programs.....

Discover the wonders of immersing yourself in a lost village on the edge of the jungle where all its fauna is 100% wild.

Faboulous lodge next to the rainforest and Natural Park Gunung Leuser where you can see the real wild orangutans (not like the semi-wild ones in another areas close by), you can see gibbons in the forest next to the river, while having your coffee from the restaurant, an expérience as nowhere else!!! Great people, amazing food, confortable rooms, I would recommend this place ever and ever to all those willing to have a wildlife trip in Sumatra! Thanks to Samuel and Nora for managing this great place!!

Amazing guesthouse perfectly located, in front of the river and the jungle, you can even hear and see some gibbons from the terrace
The atmosphere is very peaceful
Our room was quite big, with western bucket toilet and cold shower, and a fan. It’s confortable enough for your stay here
The guesthouse offers a restaurant service, I highly recommend it, the dishes are delicious!
People are very welcoming and respectful, and also very friendly if you want to have a talk, or some help
Moreover Samuel, the manager, can help you before and during your stay for everything : how to come, plan your jungle trek or others activities. We had the chance to do a daily trek with two of his guides and it was an amazing day
Last point, this guesthouse and their team are part of an NGO, which aims to support local people, and encourage nature conservation
Be sure you’ll have an amazing and authentic experience by going to Batu katak gibbon guesthouse

We were in Sumatra in June and we booked a trek through sumatratrekking.com, our experience was unique, we spent 3 days in the jungle, we saw orangutans and all kinds of wildlife. We stayed at Gibbon guesthouse, lovely staff and everything very good.

Without a doubt we recommend visiting Batu katak and hiring activities with Nora and Samuel in charge of this incredible project.
