15-DAY TIGER EXPEDITION AT GUNUNG LEUSER NATIONAL PARK

15-Day Tiger Expedition at Gunung Leuser National Park

From the airport, you will head to Batu Katak for the first night at the Ibu Bumi Guesthouse.

Day 2-12: In the morning, after breakfast, we head to Batu Jonjong, a village where we will start our expedition in Gunung Leuser National Park.

Each afternoon, we will stop to build the campsite and prepare dinner.

Our expedition takes us through one of the most amazing National parks, home of the Sumatran Tiger, Elephants, Rhinos, hornbills, orangutans, Gibbons…. We must climb a few mountains until we arrive at the enclave of Sapo Padang. During our treks, we can discover the biodiversity of the Rainforest. We will track the territory of the Sumatran Tiger every day. With luck, we can find footprints and maybe hear him. Every day we must build a new campsite and cook, sometimes fishing or collecting wild vegetables for dinner.

On day 12, we will arrive at the Sapo Padang enclave, and we will be there for the next 3 days. In Sapo Padang, we will stay at the campsite and trek every day around the amazing forest home of tigers, Wild Elephants, orangutans, and Gibbons. This is an opportunity to engage with the local community and culture, as well as enjoy swimming, fishing, and some relaxation after the previous day’s trekking.

On day 14, we will return to Batu Katak village by off-road motorbike and spend the final night at the Guesthouse.

Day 15 - Return to the airport.
