Ibu Bumi Orangutan
Community-conservation of wildlife and forests
Ibu Bumi Orangutan is a non-profit initiative dedicated to the conservation of rainforest flora and fauna within the Gunung Leuser National Park in North Sumatra, Indonesia. We work to protect the area, a designated World Heritage site, by implementing sustainable strategies that benefit both the environment and the local communities.
Through our Sumatra Trekking, we fund our conservation efforts by directing 10% of every booking fee from trekking trips, holidays, and volunteer programs directly into our NGO projects. Our work focuses on a variety of projects, including wildlife conservation, support for local farmers, and environmental education for children.

Our Work
All funds gained from our guided trekking holidays and programs aid us in continuing our work within the Gunung Leuser National Park, a World Heritage site, where we:
Raise funds through activities such as trekking trips, holidays, and volunteer programs offered by Sumatra Trekking.
Are actively involved in various projects, including conservation programs for Orangutans, the Sumatran Tiger and Elephant.
Develop sustainable activities to support the livelihood of local farmers.
Design environmental and basic education programs for children.
Research ways to prevent human-wildlife conflict.
Develop agroforestry management systems.

When booking a trek through us, 10% of every activity goes directly to our NGO programs.
Help us protect the jungle.
Our mission is the conservation of rainforest flora and fauna through the implementation of sustainable strategies in local community development and environmental education
Your donation helps us to further our projects, without that we could not keep this beautiful jungle and everything around it. Without help, none of this is possible.
Thank you!
